Dear Families,
Welcome to Jaffrey Grade School! The doors of our building first opened in 1938. This fall we will be focusing on our 71 years of history as we say goodbye to the old tree in front of the school. On the other hand, our newly renovated school offices remind us that we are always moving forward and will be educating many more children in the years ahead. Thank you to the voters of Jaffrey and Rindge for supporting our renovation project, which was part of the Phase II Security Bond passed in March 2008.
Our school exists for students and our most important objective is to help each child grow and learn. I look forward to working with students, staff, parents, and other community members to ensure that the educational experience at Jaffrey Grade School will be the best possible.
The goals of our school district focus on student achievement, school climate, professional growth, and organizational efficiency. As a school, we also work to continuously improve in these areas. I look forward to sharing information about our initiatives throughout the year.
The JGS Parent & Student Handbook is an important source of information about our school. Our weekly newsletter will also be used to communicate with families about school events and programs. The JGS NOTES will be distributed each Thursday and will also be available on our district website (www.sau47.k12.nh.us).
I would like to thank parents and other community members for working with us enthusiastically. Parent involvement is vital to school success. You are warmly invited to attend school events, share your ideas, and volunteer as your schedule permits. Most importantly, our children will feel confident and motivated when they know adults at home and school are working together to help them do their best.
Please feel free to call the school office, your child’s teacher, or me whenever you have questions or need additional information. Have a wonderful school year!
Sincerely,
Susan Shaw-Sarles
Principal
